How to Eliminate Bed Bugs Using Heat Treatment

H•E•A•T is the most effective, chemical-free way to destroy a bed bug infestation at every stage of their life cycle, from eggs to adults. Unlike contact sprays that only kill what you see, thermal treatment penetrates deep into mattress seams, baseboards, and furniture crevices where these pests hide during the day. Success depends entirely on sustained exposure. You are not just warming a room; you are raising the ambient temperature until it becomes lethal to the colony. Done well, you will see a total cessation of activity within hours, leaving your bedroom safe and habitable again without the need for toxic residuals.

  1. Lock Down the Space. Before turning on any equipment, seal all infested rooms. Use painter's tape to block gaps under doors and move non-infested items out of the space to prevent cross-contamination.
  2. Scorch All Soft Goods. Strip all bedding, curtains, and soft fabrics from the room. Wash them in hot water and dry on the highest heat setting for at least 60 minutes.
  3. Deploy the Heaters. Place industrial electric heaters in the center of the room, ensuring they are clear of any furniture. Aim the airflow to circulate around the bed frame and perimeter walls.
  4. Hit and Hold 125°F. Place digital thermometers in the coldest corners of the room. Heat the space until the air reaches 125°F and hold it there for a minimum of four hours.
  5. Stir the Heat. Midway through the treatment, use a pole to move furniture slightly so the heat reaches the floor space previously blocked. Do not open windows or doors during this process.
  6. Collect the Casualties. Power down the heaters and allow the room to return to ambient temperature naturally. Once cool, vacuum all dead insects and eggs using a HEPA-filtered vacuum.
