How to Deep Clean Outdoor Pavers

Patios are the workhorses of the backyard, enduring sun, rain, and heavy foot traffic until they eventually fade under a layer of grime. A well-maintained paver surface shouldn't just look clean; it should feel solid and secure underfoot, free from the slick moss that accumulates in shady corners. Cleaning your pavers is more than just a cosmetic upgrade; it is a vital part of protecting your hardscape investment. By removing debris and organic buildup, you stop weeds from taking root in the joints and prevent the surface from becoming a slip hazard during wet weather. Done correctly, a thorough cleaning reveals the true color and texture of your stones, making the entire outdoor space feel brand new.

Clear the Deck First. Remove all patio furniture, pots, and grills from the area. Sweep the entire surface with a stiff-bristled push broom to remove loose dirt, leaves, and surface debris.
Target Stubborn Spots. Identify oil spots or deep moss patches and apply a specialized stone cleaner or a mild dish soap solution directly to those areas. Let the solution dwell for ten minutes to break down the bond between the stain and the stone.
