How to Seal a Bathroom Vanity-to-Wall Gap
Gaps between a vanity and the wall are more than just an eyesore; they are prime territory for water infiltration. Over time, moisture sneaking behind your cabinet will cause wood rot, mold growth, and damaged drywall. Sealing this seam properly keeps your bathroom clean and prevents structural issues that are far more expensive to fix down the road. - Strip Away the Old Mess. Scrape away any old, failing caulk using a plastic putty knife to avoid gouging the wall. Wipe down the entire gap area with isopropyl alcohol to remove soap scum, dust, and oily residue.

- Finish It Like a Pro. Wet your finger with a mild soap-and-water solution and run it gently along the caulk bead in one continuous motion. This presses the material into the gap and creates a perfectly concave finish.
- Wait for Waterproof Strength. Carefully pull the painter's tape away at a 45-degree angle while the caulk is still wet. Allow the sealant to cure fully for at least 24 hours before exposing it to water.
